My name is Natalie Bailey and I adore all things motherhood and babies.
I have never experienced anything so personally, physically and emotionally transformative in such a short amount of time than my 3 unique transitions in to motherhood with my children. Each pregnancy, birth and postpartum period was vastly different and original in their own way yet also deeply familiar and predictable in their trajectory.
Upon finding out I was pregnant for the first time, I became a voracious student of all things related to conception, pregnancy and birth. With the traumatic and unexpected 10 week early arrival of my first born, Jai, at the hospital, I was catapulted in to the world of birth advocacy by becoming a doula in an effort to offer protection and support to my fellow sister mamas as they navigate such a pivotal transition in their life through pregnancy and birth. During my time as a birth doula in Southern California, I had the privilege and honor of supporting over 30 families bring their beautiful babies in to the world.
It was also at this time I discovered Baby Sign Language to use with my oldest son. With great dedication, I was able to teach him and myself over 50 signs and easily navigated the “terrible twos” with little to no tantrums since he could communicate with me what he wanted and needed. I continued this same practice with my daughter and second son, helping their developmental years be ones of deep connection with me.
My daughter, Luna and my second son, Pax were both born in the water in my bedroom at home, each their own redemption birth from my initiation in to motherhood through a horrible hospital experience. I am a huge advocate for home birth, placenta encapsulation, herbal support for women from conception to postpartum and love to share my wisdom as much as I can.
I am new to Edmond but not to Oklahoma as this is the land of my birth. I am so excited to share all I know and have experienced within motherhood with my new community of sisters and mamas! I am looking forward to a smile and a hug when we meet.
